Introduction: My family and I do a lot of traveling and while traveling we pass through rural communities where the people have to grow their own food as they do not have enough income to buy their own food. Some of these people, however, still use fertilizer in order to increase the rate of production and total yield produced. Those people who use a form of fertilizer to feed their plants, they generally use cattle manure or home-made fertilizer. At home we used to use inorganic fertilizers on our plants as they are easier to use and easily available at any garden shop, however, we have started to use the new Bokashi medium as fertilizer as it is better for the environment and it also reduces food waste. Food waste is reduced as the leftover food is used to create a liquid which can be used as a fertilizer as it is full of the nutrients left in the leftover food. I started to think about which fertilizer would work best: According to my research on the difference between inorganic and organic f ertilizers, the organic fertilizers work so well because they supply the plants with the nutrients required for growth immediately. However, the organic fertilizers such as cattle manure work so well because they enrich the soil with humus allowing for nutrients to form naturally, which will last. I was interested in which of these fertilizers would produce the best crop in a set period of time, as this would help figure out which fertilizer is best to use in the garden. The Hunt It was four a.m. on November 4, 2013 when the day of hunting began. My dad was abruptly yelling in my room to go take my de-scenting shower. I really did not want to go, and I wouldn’t have if the day wasn’t predicted to be the best day for hunting. We were going deer hunting for a trophy buck. With the little energy I possessed, I crawled out of bed. As I stood up from my cozy nest of slumber my eyes went black from moving too quickly. When I regained my bearings, I made my way to the refrigerator to get a glass of water. Upstairs my dad’s shower was running and I knew I was going to be late. He always had enough time to get his 3-layers of clothes on and watch TV before I even get in the shower. My dad tells me that it’s his normal routine where he has to get up early every morning for work. For me, school comes early enough and 7 a.m. is hard for me to wake up, much less four. When I was finally ready to leave, inside the house I was sweating from all t he heat I had built up, but outside I was grateful to have it. The specific cause of colorectal cancer is still not known but the risk factors have been identified. The risk factors include breast cancer in women, high fat and beef intake, and medical record of inflammatory bowel disease and lastly family history of colon cancer (Ponteri-lewis, 2013). If this disease is detected early and treated, it could save three people out of four with colon cancer. This essay is going to talk about the drugs administered to Nelly their mech anism of action and lastly the technologies used to detect colorectal cancer. Drugs administered Colorectal cancer therapy depends on the stage of the disease and it usually done by removal of the tumor through surgery, adjuvant therapy and supportive therapy. Nellie had a stage IVA cancer and she was referred to a colonoscopy and it was discovered that nelly had polyps in the colon which were surgically removed. She later came for adjuvant therapy which included 5-Fluorouracil, Irinotecan and lastly Oxaliplatin. This kind of therapy was used to reduce the chances of the cancer coming back after surgery. Pain medication was initiated after targeted radiotherapy failed to shrink the tumor, the severe back pain was as a result of cancer that had spread to the spinal cord and was compressing the spinal cord. Pain medication included paracetamol and morphine. Spinal tumor increased each day which caused more pain and the dose of morphine was difficult to titrate due to severe side effects it caused. End of life pathway drugs were commenced which included levomepromazine and sublingu al clonazepam. Mechanism of action 5- Fluorouracil (5-FU) is an antimetabolite which exerts its action on cells undergoing cycling. It kills tumor cells which are in the cycling and resting phase of the cell cycle. In the cell fluorouracil is changed to 5- fluoro-2-deoxyuridine-5-monophosphate (5-FdUMP), which causes the suppression of thymidylate synthase which later leads to the death of thymineless of cells. DNA synthesis is inhibited by the penetration of FdUMP. RNA synthesis and function is inhibited by 5-fluorouradine-5-triphosphate (FUTP) which is a fluorouracil metabolite. In the tumor cell the mechanism of resistance include an increased thymidylate synthase activity, a reduced activation of 5-FU, and lastly a decreased drug sensitivity of this enzyme. As a result the cell is unable to divide and dies. Irinotecan is a plant derived cell cycle specific (CCS) drugs which is found in the camptothecins group. It is converted to an active form SN-38 which requires carboxyl esterase (Huangg, Wuerzberger-Davis and Seufzer, 2012). it inhibits topoisomerase 1 activity hence causing damage to the DNA. The DNA is damaged by an inhibiting enzyme that cuts and the single DNA strands during the normal DNA repair process (Maureen, Beidler and cheng, 2013). Oxaliplatin is a chemotherapeutic agent that contains 1, 2- diaminocyclohexane ligand. Like the other platinum based compounds it exerts its effect by damaging the DNA and also by inhibition of RNA synthesis. It induces three types of links which include DNA intra-strand link, DNA inter-strand crosslinks and DNA-protein crosslinks. Intra-strand links act by the induction of DNA lesions while the inter-strand link are said to bring about the cytotoxicity of cisplatin. Stool test has been used to check for the presence of blood. It is the most common method used for early cancer detection (Burch, Soares-Weiser and John, 2013). The basic examination of the stool includes checking for color and testing for occult blood. It also checks for the ion containing portion of the hemoglobin known as the heme which is changed during the movement in the intestines (Ouyang, Chen and Getzenberg, 2018). Lower gastrointestinal tract procedure has been used to detect the presence polyps and tumors in the colon. Barium enema is inserted in the rectum so as to visualize the presence polyps. This radioscope substance is inserted during fluoroscopy. Other visualizing colon studies include double contrast studies. This process distinguishes barium coated mucosa and air filled lumen hence allowing easier detection of little lesions. Sigmoidoscopy, anoscopy and protoscopy are used to view the lower portion of the colon to check for rectal bleeding, tumor, polyps or other pathological processes. The anoscope is used to view the anus and the lower rectum. The sigmoidscopes and protoscopes are rigid scopes used to view the rectum and sigmoid (Elmunzer, Harvard and Schoenfeld, 2015). The flexible fiberoptic sigmoidoscope allows the colon to be viewed up to 40-50cm from the anus. During the procedure biopsy can be performed using a small biting forceps introduced through the endoscope. If the rectal polyps are viewed that can be removed with a wire snare used to grasp the pedicle. Magnetic resonance imaging is used in the checking of polyps in the colon (Forsberg, 2012). This is a non-invasive technique that uses radio waves and magnetic fields to produce an image of the area being studied. Oral contrasts agents are used to enhance images. She told me unspeakable things; she was being deceived by her boyfriend, as well as has asked to leave their little lovely flat immediately. Besides these ugly things, the upper most thought in my mind was she might fell abandoned by society, and do something unimaginable to herself, like give up her studies, or even to put an end to her young and beautiful life. I was very glad and pleased, that this phone call turned her negative thoughts into very positive ones! I believe what I did at the time seemed like a piece of cake to me, but I was a powerful thing happening for her. Hence, now I know the reason why people always said keep in touch, because with this connection I made a huge influence on a person unconditionally and unknowingly. In other words, I am glad that I am a human being, because I can use my kindness for people who need help, and make a real difference.

Provide’s literal sense extended to the figurative meanings of â€Å"act with foresight† and â€Å"prepare.† The noun form provision, originally used in the context of a church official’s appointment to a position not yet vacant, later also meant simply â€Å"something provided† and came to pertain, in plural form, to food supplies provided for a certain purpose, such as an expedition. (One who provides, meanwhile, is a provider.) Proviso, Latin for â€Å"provided,† refers to an introduction of a contractual condition or stipulation. Purvey, cognate with provide, is not as common as the latter word, but one who provides is sometimes referred to as a purveyor, as in a mercantile context. (The word took that form based on a passage through Old French and Anglo-French.) Purview, meaning â€Å"a range† or â€Å"a limit† or â€Å"the essence of a statute,† entered English by way of Old French and Anglo-French, descended from the same word as purvey. Improvidence is the failure to foresee or prepare; the adjectival forms of the antonyms are provident and improvident. Cognate synonyms are prudence/prudent and imprudence/imprudent (the last word not to be confused with the unrelated word impudent, meaning â€Å"immodest† or â€Å"insolent†), which refer more broadly to discretion, shrewdness, or wisdom or the lack thereof. Improvisation, and the verb improvise, are also descended from providere, in the sense of improvised, or unprepared, behavior being unforeseen. The truncation improv refers to extemporaneous presentation, especially a spontaneous musical performance or a comedy routine, the latter sometimes based on topical prompts from audience members. However, the rest of [my friends and family] maintain that since it is mechanical as opposed to manual, it does not fit the general connotation of a tool. Please help in settling this discussion once and for all. Like many common English words, tool is used with both literal and figurative meanings. Take the word hammer, for example. At the most basic level of meaning, a hammer is an implement for pounding nails or breaking something up. But pianos contain hammers that strike strings without breaking them, to produce sound. King Edward I of England (1239-1307) is known as â€Å"the Hammer of the Scots† because of his military incursions into Scotland, when he did his best â€Å"to hammer† the inhabitants into submission. So is it with tool. The noun tool has been with us since King Alfred’s day, when he used it in his translation of Boethius to refer to one of the necessities of life: â€Å"a tool [to practice] some craft.† Tool derives from an Old Germanic verb that meant â€Å"to prepare† or â€Å"to make.† In his dictionary of 1755, Dr. Johnson (1709-1784) defined tool as â€Å"any instrument of manual operation.† The OED expands on this basic definition: tool noun: a mechanical implement for working upon something, as by cutting, striking, rubbing, or other process, in any manual art or industry; usually, one held in and operated directly by the hand (or fixed in position, as in a lathe), but also including certain simple machines, as the lathe; sometimes extended to simple instruments of other kinds, [like a lens]. By extension, tool can refer to anything that helps a person carry out a job. For example, the tools I use to write these articles about language include a computer, the Google Ngram Viewer, and an assortment of reference books. Shakespeare plays on two meanings of tool in the opening scene of Romeo and Juliet. Sampson and Gregory, characters in the employ of the Capulets, make jokes laced with sexual innuendo.
